  • Orlando furioso. Valeria Brancaforte

From Wednesday to Saturday

Mornings from 11:30 to 14:00
Afternoons from 15:00 to 20:30

Through mapping grooves on linoleum plates,  Valeria Brancaforte joins typography and illustration to reinterpret two texts of world literature: the verses of Orlando Furioso, by Ludovico Ariosto (1474-1533) and the sonnet XIV of Shakespeare (1564-1616).

In Orlando Furioso, Valeria Brancaforte reinterprets this classic of Italian literature through a selection of verses of songs 6, 19 and 23 accompanied by seven original illustrations in which the influence of the visual imagery of the Sicilian “Teatro dei Pupi” is appreciated.

In a personal and risky short, the artist manages to include the main characters of this epic choral poem maintaining a logical and visual continuity.

The exhibition includes work on Shakespeare Sonnet XIV.
